The 9" Tropf Blumat Watering Carrot (Drip-Blumat) is a sensor that supplies plants with drips of water via thin tubing. As the soil dries, its natural suction power triggers the opening of the Tropf Blumat allowing the water to flow. When the soil is sufficiently moist, the Tropf Blumat automatically stops. The system functions fully automatically. Every plant, every container or group of plants requires at least 1 Tropf Blumat adjusted to the individual needs of the plant. Larger containers or surfaces require longer or more than one sensor. All Tropf Blumat watering carrots are connected using one supply tube. This allows for flexibility in the layout and is changeable at any time.
-Both a sensor and a watering unit
-Independently measures moisture of the surrounding soil, and waters plants accordingly
-Ideal for larger containers and deep rooted plants
-Maxi (9") length allows deeper moisture measurements
-Watering systems can easily be extended by adding additional carrots (up to 500)
Note: Blumat Classics (Juniors) and bottle adapters are designed for houseplants while Tropf Blumat Sensors (the one's with the small adjustable brown knob on top) are designed for greenhouses, growrooms, decks, and outside gardens. Blumat Austria says "Please don't use the Tropf-Blumats indoors" because if hooked up to a constant water source and a pet, guest, or user-error somehow causes a run-away, it could damage an indoor floor, drywall, carpet, or furniture. We, and many others, do in fact use these systems inside ourselves, however, we are generally around enough that if a problem did occur, we would be able to notice a problem and fix it in time (not the case if someone is on vacation). We have many guides for being able to set these up the proper way and avoid a run-away or general mistakes. Please contact us for any help, we are always here to help make your life easier.
