Fabric Pots have tremendous advantages over plastic, starting with the elimination of root circling. When root tips reach the edge of the plastic pot, they choose a direction and continue on. In fabric pots, they reach the edge of the pot and are air-pruned. This allows more fibrous branching roots that are more effective at soaking up water and nutrients. They also allow for more passive oxygen transfer through the porous fabric pot wall.
Round or Square Pots? Has been a topic of discussion for a while. We're all used to round, but there is increased surface area in a square or cube shape. These square pots have fabric loops for plant stakes, while the round equivalent has metal eyelets that you would tie your LST (low stress training) wire.
