With the Tropf Blumat Basic Pump System you don't have to elevate a reservoir and can use a larger reservoir if you want to worry less about having a constant water supply. You can maintain the same pressure at all times and can generally run a lot more Tropf Blumat sensors than in a gravity system. How many plants can run off this pump system depends on many factors (size of plant, soil, temperature, etc...). This kit includes the highest quality Shurflo Revolution pressure pump and accumulator tank, pressure regulator, bulkhead fitting, a T-filter/strainer, fittings and instructions.
This Kit Includes:
- 1 Shurflo Revolution 115 vac pressure pump
- 1 Shurflo accumulator tank
- 1 pressure reducer
- 1 T-Line strainer
- 1 bulk head fitting (3/4" to 1/2")
- 1 6" plastic pipe nipple
- 1 3/4" male hose x 1/2" & 3/4" female pipe
- 1 electric plug
- 1 roll of teflon tape
- Instructions for installation
How It Works
The Tropf Blumat self-watering system functions automatically. As the soil dries, a vacuum and hydro-static pressure, coupled with a spring-loaded gating mechanism, pulls water from the main line. When the soil is sufficiently moist, pressures equalize, and the Tropf Blumat automatically stops taking in water.
Please Note
Although this system has an accumulator tank, you will still need a water reservoir.
Tropf Blumat Austria says "Please don't use the Tropf Blumat indoors" because if hooked up to a constant water source and a pet, guest or user-error somehow causes a run-away, it could damage your home. We, and many others, do in fact use these systems inside ourselves, however, we are generally around enough that if a problem did occur, we would be able to notice a problem and fix it in time (not the case if someone is on vacation).
