In collaboration with the renowned Wageningen University and Research center in The Netherlands, along with leading growers across North America, Grodan has redefined the benchmarks for stone wool substrate excellence through their Grodan Gro-Block Improved. This innovation emerges from extensive scientific exploration and rigorous field trials, integrating Grodan's pioneering Advanced Wetting Agent to set new standards in crop cultivation.
The Grodan Gro-Block Improved embodies the pinnacle of substrate design, offering unparalleled uniformity in crop growth. Its meticulously engineered fiber structure and physical attributes promote a harmonious balance of water content (WC) and electrical conductivity (EC) distribution across the block. This synergy fosters a robust root system, characterized by its heightened capacity for water and nutrient absorption, culminating in the vigorous growth of crops. Enhanced by cutting-edge wetting agent and hydrophilic technology, the Grodan Gro-Block Improved ensures superior water distribution, facilitating optimal plant development and allowing for precise cultivation control.
Key Features:
- Optimal Fiber Structure: Crafted for uniform crop growth, ensuring balanced water and nutrient distribution.
- Advanced Wetting Agent: Incorporates the latest in hydrophilic technology for improved water distribution and retention.
- Enhanced Plant Development: Promotes a well-defined root system for increased water and nutrient uptake.
- Sustainable Use of Resources: Enables more efficient water and nutrient usage, contributing to environmentally responsible cultivation practices.
- Durable and Stable: Maintains structural integrity, firmness, and rigidity throughout the growth cycle, supporting faster rooting and nutrient replenishment.
Applications:
Ideal for specialty crop cultivation, the Grodan Gro-Block Improved is designed to support a wide range of agricultural practices. Its advanced features make it particularly suited for hydroponic systems, where precision in water and nutrient management is crucial. Gardeners can leverage the Grodan Gro-Block Improved for propagating seedlings or cuttings, ensuring a seamless transition to larger systems. Its consistent performance and superior plant steering capabilities offer an unmatched tool for achieving optimal growth conditions and maximizing crop yields.
Rockwool: Grodan Stonewool (rockwool) is made from molten rock spun into cotton candy-like fibers and then compressed into cubes, blocks, or slabs. Where other rockwool brand manufacturers cut all sizes from one batch of wool, Grodan is unique by making different types of fibers. The purpose is to support the plant's requirements in the different plant stages. Grodan has a tremendous capacity for absorbing nutrient solution while retaining plenty of oxygen for rapid plant growth. Grodan comes in graduated sizes. Seedlings started in cubes are easily transferred to blocks and then onto slabs if desired. Seedlings or cuttings started in the Grodan cubes can also be transplanted into more traditional planters and growing mediums.
Grodan Blocks - These growing blocks are used for direct sowing or "blocking on" of Macro and Multiblock raised plants. AO 36/40 plugs fit well into the hole sizes provided by the blocks. The blocks can then be placed on a slab for a larger growing volume. Hugo is the largest of the growing blocks. It provides enough growing volume to support a larger plant, so it does not need to be placed on top of a slab.
